Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Again (also known by the abbreviated OUATIM 2) is an upcoming Bollywood crime drama film directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. It is a sequel to the 2010 hit film Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. The project features Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan and Sonali Bendre in signed roles respectively. It is expected to release on 8th August 2013, on Eid.

The filming began in Mumbai during August 2012. Some parts have also been shot in Oman.

The lead actor was firstly chosen to be played by Emraan Hashmi, who also appeared in the original film. However, director Milan Luthria was searching for an older actor, and hence chose Akshay Kumar. Kumar is to play the role of Shoaib Khan (Dawood Ibrahim). In February 2012, it was announced that there were two male leads in the film, and the second parallel to Kumar, was signed to Shahid Kapoor. However, in March 2012, it was finalized that Imran Khan was actually playing the second male lead. Many female actors were considered for the female lead, including Illeana D'Cruz, Kareena Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, however in April 2012, it was reported that Sonakshi Sinha had joined the cast as the female lead. Later, in July 2012, Sonali Bendre was roped in to play a supporting character in the film. In November 2012, it was announced that the film is scheduled to release on Eid 2013.
