Go Watch Goliath Or I'll Zap You With My Heatray

War of The Worlds: Goliath
Not a Review.
Malaysia Boleh!
Well, sort of.
Eh, 70% Malaysian production ok!
And it's the most important parts too!

It's like a sequel to the original WOTW.
Yeah, after all those silly Martians died,
After catching a cold MUAHAHAHA.
So, after that, humans just sapu their toys lor.
And built their OWN awesome tripods.
FUCK YEAH!

Can someone PLEASE make a polystone statue of the Goliath Tripod?
The design is AWESOME.
It's all designed by Malaysians, BTW,
I loved the way they mixed steampunk and Martian tech,
The animation, the design were also pretty damn good.

Ok, now on to the story.
Er, ok, this is where it's a little flimsy.
Ok fine, it's a fairly simple story.
Martians came, killed, and ACHOOO! died.
Humans survived, and made AWESOME MARTIAN KILLING MACHINES.
Martians come again, TO KILL US ALL!
(This time after taking their anti-flu jabs).
Humans fight back valiantly!
KABOOM RATATATAT PEW PEW ZZZEENGGGEEOWWWWWW
(that last one's the heat ray)
Annnd.. you can guess the rest.

Yup, pretty standard story,
But don't let that stop you from watching this.
It's actually pretty entertaining.
Like watching Robotech or Gundam,
But without the complicated trippy stuff.
Well, at least it felt that way to ME.

I like how they set it in WWI though.
It was like a WHAT IF Martians attacked before WWI.
And how they put in all those historical figures.
Teddy Roosevelt, The Red Baron,
NIKOLA TESLA FTW!

Adam Baldwin FTW!
Yeah, his character pretty much steals the show
Ok, he's only in it for a bit, but STILL!
The rest were not bad,
There's even a Malayan dude there,
Goes to a bar and drinks tea,
And he's got mad keris-wielding Martian-killing skills!

It's a bit slow in the beginning,
But once the tripods start kicking ass,
Then it gets pretty cool.
Seriously, if Tom Cruise's movie had him driving a tripod
And taking the fight to the MArtians,
Instead of just running away and hiding,
I bet it would have been SO MUCH MORE AWESOME.

Evangelion 2.0.1: Can They (Not) Do (This) Next (Time)?

Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance
(Not) a review.
There they go again with the (Not).
Last time was You Are (Not) Alone.
Now it's You Can (Not) Advance.
Can they (Not) do that in the next movie please?

Wahlau so emo.
But then again, not as emo as the first one.
And how the hell does an emo wuss like Shinji get not one,
But TWO hot chicks going after him?
Speaking of hot chicks, you've gotta love the Japs.
For always finding excuses to get their anime women naked.

Ok, it's still as confusing as hell.
Like, WTF ARE those angels?
If you didn't watch the first one, don't bother.
But even if you watched the first one,
You'd still be confused as hell.
Well I was.
Trust the Japs to come up with stories like this.

But it's still fucking awesome though.
The action sequences are pretty damn awesome.
And the drama bits are pretty good.
A bit slow in parts, especially when they are emo-ing,
But Holy shit the fights were awesome.
So yeah, it's confusing and emo,
But damn fucking awesome.
Besides, how often do you get to watch anime in a cinema, eh?

BTW, it's only showing only in Cathay Picturehouse,
At the place formerly known as Cineleisure.
Oh, and remember to stay until the end,
Because got a bit more after credits,
And a preview of Evengelion 3.0!
Wonder what they'll call it this time,
She Is (Not) Underaged?

Smurf Me! More Megan's Body!

We now interrupt your regular scheduled blogging to bring you more gratuitous pictures of MEgan Fox in Jennifer's Body. Behold, the movie posters...

And if you thought THAT was hot, check out the Spanish one...

Oooh. FOXEH.

What, don't like Megan Fox? What are you, gay? (don't bother answering if you're female)

Well here are some cool... no, make that VERY cool posters for Roland Emmerich's latest ploy to destroy the world. I mean, his new film.

This last one is KILLER, I tell you. I'd LOVE to have all four hanging in my living room, though considering my apartment's past shenanigans with water, I'm not sure it'll send out a good vibe.

Anyway, there're some adaptations of anime coming our way as well, starting with the upcoming Astroboy-who-doesn't-look-Japanese:

And the adpatation of Gatchaman, also known as G-Force (NO, NOT the the one with Hamsters):

And last, but not least (well, it IS least for me, I don't know about YOU), we have a new movie on.... SMURFS.

Oh dear. What the SMURF is this???
